I have been a school social worker for the Altrip community at the Albert Schweitzer School since 2016.
School social work is an offer from youth welfare to support young people in their individual, social and school development. Educational disadvantages are to be reduced and students, legal guardians and teachers are to be advised and supported. The self-image of school social work includes the principles of individual appreciation, voluntariness and confidentiality. School social workers are subject to a duty of confidentiality, which means that all discussions are treated confidentially.
School social worker responsibilities include:

· Ongoing, serious conflicts with classmates, teachers, or within the family
· Child development, child sexuality
· Classic parenting issues
· Custody issues
· Divorce and Separation
· Mental or physical illnesses of the children or legal guardians, addiction or the death of a close relative
· Domestic violence
· School anxiety, separation anxiety, truancy
· Learning and concentration difficulties (LRD, ADHD, etc.) or giftedness
· Financial support options (Education and Participation Act, support association)

I can usually be easily reached by phone at school from Monday to Thursday from 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Since I am often on the road in classes or abroad, I ask you to make an appointment. Joint discussions can take place by telephone, video, in person at school or as a home visit, if necessary also at other times.
