Yes, it works!

From now on, all children and adults in the school can fill up with water. Fizzy, chilled still or ambient.

We thank the association for the donation of 500 drinking bottles and we thank our secretary Mrs. Schrödter for labeling all bottles!

50 years colorful-

there's a lot going on at the Albert Schweitzer School!

To mark the 50th anniversary, the Albert Schweitzer School in Altrip held a big school festival on May 21, 2022.

Together with the families of the students and some invited guests of honor, such as former colleagues and cooperation partners, songs were sung together and greetings were listened to at the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Mayor Volker Mansky outlined the history of the school from the day it was founded to the extensive fire protection renovations, which will hopefully be completed soon. Ms. Andrea Franz, rector of the school since summer 2022, emphasized that the children will have to be prepared for new challenges in the future: sustainability, education for democracy and dealing with digital media are increasingly becoming the focus of school work.

Mr. Antonio Nuccio and Ms. Julia Bubbel, parents' representatives and friends' association, addressed the lack of teachers, which has been the biggest problem since the school was founded in Altrip.

Vice President Ms. Silke Benter reported on the activities that the children carried out with the teachers in the previous project week.

The children then presented the results of the last few days in the school and in the schoolyard: walls were painted, creative art objects designed, scenic games worked out, music was made with the State Philharmonic, raised beds were laid out - because a school garden will be created and healthy nutrition was also an issue international experience in the "Very British" group.

In the nostalgia room, former colleagues and former students showed pictures of their own time at the Albert Schweitzer School. For the approximately seven hundred guests at the festival, this room offered plenty of opportunities for conversation. Many generations also came into contact with each other in the schoolyard with good food and music.

The three student representatives Aalyiah, Taisha and Jana raised 850 euros in a self-organized raffle. The children of the school can now decide who wins.

The staff of the Albert Schweitzer School and the association of friends and sponsors of the school would like to thank all guests for their participation in the anniversary celebration and are happy about the numerous donations in kind and money that will benefit the school community.
